Here’s How The Langer Therapeutic Footwear Program Works For You.

We help you obtain your Durable Medical Equipment (DME) number from Medicare.
We have the largest inventory of high quality, brand name shoes for immediate delivery.
We supply a full range of lengths, widths and colors in all shoe styles.
We provide billing, coding and compliance support.
We offer a vast diabetic marketing network and unique patient referral system.
We provide a free patient recall system for all eligible patients.
We fabricate the highest quality custom diabetic inserts and supply the finest prefabricated inserts as well as all necessary supplies.

Reimbursement for Prefabricated or Custom Inserts

Currently, the two reimbursement codes for removable shoe inserts are A5512 and A5513.
Code A5512 applies to multidensity, prefabricated inserts (per shoe) that are directly heat-molded to the feet using an external heat source (e.g. heat gun) to create a “total contact” insert at the time of dispensing.
Code A5513 applies to multidensity, custom molded inserts made over models of the patient’s feet (per shoe) using either in-office or outside laboratory fabrication and fulfilling the same “total contact” requirement at the time of dispensing. In both instances and with appropriate medical notes and documentation, the reimbursement for both custom inserts and heat molded prefabricated inserts is the same. It is up to the practitioner to make the final determination as to which type of insert is most appropriate for the patient’s foot type and condition irrespective of cost or reimbursement.
